Today, we are kicking off our #WhatToDoWednesday series spotlighting student clubs and organizations. The series starts with the Elmira College chapter of Enactus.

With more than 72,000 student members and 1,730 university programs, Enactus is global non-profit community. The organization is comprised of student, academic and business leaders committed to using the power of entrepreneurial action to transform lives and shape a better more sustainable world.

The Elmira College chapter was founded 1997, and since then has collaborated with numerous local organizations on marketing, branding, and other professional projects.

“Enactus is a great opportunity for students to gain real, hands-on business and marketing experience, while connecting with local businesses and our surrounding community,” said Marisa Sponable ’18, Elmira College Enactus president.

One of the largest events hosted by the Elmira College chapter is the Twin Tiers Ties Expo on January 18, 2018, at the First Arena in downtown Elmira. This event brings students and local businesses, organizations, and non-profits together for a day of networking.

“We are excited to announce that a portion of this year’s event proceeds will be donated to the Food Bank of the Southern Tier as well as the Economic Opportunity Program, Inc.,” said Sponable.
