The Elmira College New York City Alumni Chapter is getting ready to hit the stage and debut a new full-length play by playwright and Elmira College Professor, John J. Kelly.

Alumni will perform a staged reading of the play, Changes, on Sunday, October 1 at 4:30 p.m. in the Dramatist Guild Fund Music Hall in Manhattan.

Some of the Elmira-proud performers include: Margaret Kasper Reed ’73, Morgan Paige Fluss ’06, Kristen Feeney ’04, Katherine Juliano ’15, Erin Francisco ’09, Matt Ultan ’14, Anthony Naranjo ’15, Andrew Higgs ’14 and Kevin Winebold ’04.

The play, set in the Vatican, follows the arrival of the newest Pope, Ulujimi, a blind African prelate, whose surprise selection by the College of Cardinals was made possible by a split between Italian and other European church leaders. This new Pope seeks to modernize and broaden the Church, but faces steadfast opposition. Nevertheless the Pope moves forward with faithful determination that leads to dire consequences within the Vatican.

Alumni, friends, and family are invited to attend the performance. Seating for the play is limited and reservations are requested.
