Elmira College Receives Grant from The Mildred Faulkner Truman Foundation

Elmira College recently received a generous grant for a fifth consecutive year from The Mildred Faulkner Truman Foundation. The $15,000 grant-in-aid is distributed to selected Tioga County, New York, students who have demonstrated financial need for the 2017-2018 academic year.

“Mildred Faulkner Truman was a lifelong resident of Owego, who loved this region, “ said Stephanie Carrigg, grant advisor for The Mildred Faulkner Truman Foundation.  “Grants that benefit Tioga County [NY] residents, such as this grant-in-aid for students attending Elmira College, keep her legacy and commitment alive.”

Dr. Charles Lindsay, president of Elmira College stated, “The College is honored to receive this generous support again this year. Mrs. Faulkner Truman’s foresight in establishing this Foundation is a true testament to her business acumen and her compassion.  The Foundation’s continued commitment to the financial needs of Tioga County students is an important investment in their success and growth.”
