Helping Hands for Harvey

The Elmira College Office of Career Services is leading a “Helping Hands for Harvey,” effort to collect donations and items for those impacted by the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey.

From now until Wednesday, September 13, the community is welcome to bring supplies and items such as blankets, water, and personal hygiene items to fill up a donated box truck headed to Texas.

Donations can be dropped off at the Office of Career Services inside the Gannett-Tripp Library as well as the Campus Center. The items needed include:

In addition to the “Helping Hands for Harvey” effort, the men’s and women’s basketball teams have stepped up to support hurricane victims. The teams packed up extra EC shirts, socks, and other clothing items in response to a tweet sent out by University of Houston basketball coach Kelvin Sampson.

Elmira College was just one of many colleges and universities across the country to donate gear.
