Alexandria Woodard ’18, a political science major with a concentration in American politics, presented a research paper during the recent New York State Political Science Association Conference at Nazareth College.

Alexandria’s paper titled, “The Me, Me, Me Generation: An Analysis of Millennials and Voter Turnout,” focused on the millennial, Gen X and Baby Boomer cohorts and their participation in political affairs, as measured by turnout in national elections since 1978.  Her examination in millennial voting behavior creates an avenue for how policymakers and campaign managers can better mobilize young voters in the future.

“This was my first professional academic conference, and it was an incredibly rewarding experience,” explained Alexandria. “Presenting my research gave me a taste of some of the many academic endeavors that I will face ahead as I prepare for my master degree program at American University, and eventually my Ph.D.”

Congratulations to Alexandria!
