Olga Five Under Five

1. What is your fondest memory of your time at Elmira?
On my very first day, when I landed in Elmira College straight from Caracas, Venezuela, the Director of Admissions came to pick me up from the airport. I could not believe the he was taking time out of his Saturday to pick me up, immediately making me feel welcome. It was the best proof I had made a good decision.

2. What is the most valuable lesson you learned in or out of the classroom at Elmira?
The most valuable lesson I learned in many of my marketing courses and outside of the classroom on field trips was the impact and value of relationship management.

3. How did your experience at Elmira impact your passions in your career and who you are today?
Elmira College helped me decide on a career in marketing. Through Elmira’s internship and out-of-the-classroom programs, I was able to identify my passion for this field of work. I also had relevant work experience that aided me in getting my first job.

4. What advice do you have for current undergrads or students considering attending Elmira?
I would encourage students and prospective students to talk to the faculty in their field of choice. Elmira is fortunate to have great professors who are truly invested in the success of their students. It was eye opening to me when I experienced it for the first time.

5. What is the best thing about being an Elmira alum?
Elmira is such a close-knit community. We have regular alumni events in New York City and have a deep sense of belonging.
