Elmira College Enactus Team at Regional Competition

The Elmira College Enactus Team recently participated in the Enactus Regional Competition in Washington, D.C.

The students shared the impact of their entrepreneurial-based projects with local organizations including the Chemung County Child Care Council (C5), Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) and the Ireze Foundation, with a panel of judges from Fortune 500 companies and other corporate entities.

This year’s team included Emily Weise ‘17, Jeremy Boorum ‘20, Leah Cunningham ‘18, Team Co-President Elizabeth Paolucci ‘17, Alex Garey ‘19, Team President-Elect Marisa Sponable ‘18, and Team Co-President Spencer Cocca ‘17.

The annual competition brings together hundreds of students from colleges and universities from the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions and also features a career fair for students to network and interview with large companies, such as Sam’s Club, Walgreens, and Robert Half.

After participating in impromptu interviews, Elizabeth Paolucci '17 and Marisa Sponable '18 were both offered paid internships through the Sam's Club Division of Wal-Mart Stores, Inc.

Enactus is an international organization that connects student, academic and business leaders through entrepreneurial-based projects that empower people to transform opportunities into real, sustainable progress for themselves and their communities.
