New Student Photography and Artwork on Display

This month, the Elmira College Arts Alive events continue with student exhibits in the Gannett-Tripp Library and in Gibson Theatre Lobby.

For the month of April, the Gannett-Tripp Library display cases will feature portfolio pieces from students in the Photography I class. The photos were taken with film cameras and prints were developed in the darkroom.

The featured students include: Adelheide Bradigan ’18, Elizabeth Caverly ’19, Meghan Fonfara ’18, Andrea Gridley ’19, Hannah Lundgren ’18, Elizabeth McIlwain ’19, Noah Parry ’17, Blake Phelps ’19, Lindsay Proulx ’18, Amy Sullivan ’18, Anna Tude ’17, and Emily Owen '17. Their digital portfolios can be accessed at starting April 7 

Beginning April 4, Lily Pipher ‘18, a visual arts education major, will be the artist of the month featured in the Gibson Theatre Lobby with her portrait work on display through April 25. In her artist statement Lily commented that, “portraits have become one of [her] favorite subjects to study and an area of expertise.” 

Arts Alive is a celebration of the arts during Terms II and III, which features presentations, performances, and exhibitions by faculty, students, and special guests. This month’s exhibits, and many other events, are free and open to the community. Click here for a full listing of events.
