Category: Academics

Dr. Amy M. Lyndaker, Assistant Professor of Biology, recently presented her research at the 2016 Gordon Research Conference on Meiosis held at Colby-Sawyer College in New London, NH from June 26 - July 1. The conference included researchers from all over the world, with sessions on genetic recombination, chromosome pairing, chromosome segregation, epigenetics, and clinical implications of meiotic errors (such as infertility). Dr. Lyndaker presented a research poster on her genetic studies in mammals, showing that the RAD1 component of the 9-1-1 DNA repair complex is critical for genetic recombination and proper chromosome pairing during germ cell development.
