Cheerleading Unveils National Championship Routine

The Elmira College cheerleading team unveiled its routine for the 2016 National Cheerleaders Association (NCA) College Nationals on Monday, April 4th, at 4:00 p.m. in Speidel Gymnasium.

The EC cheerleaders will use the special performance as their final tune-up before their biggest competition of the season. Seeking the program's third national championship, the Soaring Eagles will head to Daytona Beach, FL, to compete in the NCA College Nationals, beginning in the preliminary round Thursday, April 7th, at the Ocean Center. Elmira is scheduled to take the mat at 12:02 p.m. in the All-Girl Cheer Division III. The finals will be held on Friday, April 8th, beginning at 3:56 p.m.

Monday's routine capped off a busy three-day span for the Soaring Eagles in preparation of the national tournament. Elmira competed in the NCA and NDA Empire State Classic on Saturday, April 2nd, at the Oncenter Complex in Syracuse, NY. The following day, the Purple and Gold participated in the New York State College Showcase in Cortland, NY.
