Broadway star Ann Morrison to Appear with Elmira College Theatre Students

Ann Morrison, star of both the Broadway and London stages, will join students from Elmira College’s Theatre program for a performance of Tennessee Williams’ The Night of the Iguanaon February 5, 6, and 7 at 8:00 p.m., with a matinee Sunday February 8 at 2:00 p.m. All performances will take place in Gibson Theatre in Emerson Hall.


Ann Morrison made her Broadway debut as Mary Flynn in Stephen Sondheim’s Merrily We Roll Along, directed by Harold Prince, for which she won the 1982 Theatre World Award. In 2007, Harold Prince asked her to return to Broadway in LoveMusik. On the West End in London, she starred in the new musical PEG (based on “Peg O’ My Heart”). Off-Broadway she received a Drama Desk Award Nomination for the role of Lizzie in the musical Goblin Market, and was an original cast member of the popular revue Forbidden Broadway. In Los Angeles, she starred inAnyone Can Whistle and won a Drama-Logue Award for Blame It On The Movies II. She has also enjoyed cabaret, performing in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Sarasota, and across the country. Immediately before coming to Elmira, she will play at the 54 Below Supper Club in New York City.
