Assistant Athletic Trainer


Head Athletic Trainer


The assistant Athletic Trainer is responsible for the prevention, evaluation, management, and rehabilitation of the student-athlete injuries within the College’s comprehensive athletic training program.


Education: Must possess a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university: Master’s degree is preferred

Experience: Two years’ experience. College athletic training experience preferred

Certificate/License: Must be NATABOC Certified and in good standing. Must possess or be in the process of acquiring registration in the State of New York.


Primary responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  1. Prevention, evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation of athletic injuries and illnesses
  2. Provide education and counseling to the student-athletes.
  3. Athletic training administrative duties as assigned by the Head Athletic Trainer
  4. Cover home and away practices and games of assigned teams
  5. Assist in the coordination and scheduling of medical coverage for home and away practices and competitions
  6. Supervision , education and recruitment of student workers and Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainers  
  7. record keeping and documentation
  8. Work with the Team Physicians, Clarke Health Center staff, doctors and other allied health care professionals to deliver care to the student-athletes
  9. Other duties as assigned by the Head Athletic Trainer


The work environment may include hot and cold indoor/outdoor facilities, with exposure to elements such as weather, fumes and loud noises. The duties require moderate to active physical activity, handling of equipment and objects weighing 25-50 pounds and standing or walking more than four hours per day.
