“Elmira College is an accepting community where everyone can find their place and feel like they belong."
How did you get involved on campus?
As soon as I got to EC I started joining every club I thought sounded interesting. Some of them turned out not to be for me, but some of them stuck and I am still an active member or an officer. The best thing you can do is start exploring your interests as soon as you get to campus. You might find something you really love.

Have you been on a Term III trip? Describe it.
My sophomore year I went to South Africa to study sociology and my junior year I went to India to study sociology and economics. Both were incredible experiences. In South Africa, we went on a safari in Kruger Park, did the highest bungee jump in the world, and had an amazing time touring townships and meeting locals. India was a chaotic adventure where we got to explore their unique and vibrant culture. We rode elephants and camels, visited the Ganges, and went to the largest slum in Asia. Both trips were completely unforgettable and I’m very thankful I had the opportunity to go!

How did your EC scholarship benefit you or help you make your college decision?
I was awarded the Presidential Scholarship, and because of it I am able to afford to travel during Term III. My Term III experiences are some of the best memories I will have of EC and my scholarship was a big help in making that happen.
