Alumni Hall
Alumni Hall originally faced Hamilton Hall but was torn down due to
architectural problems and was reconstructed in 1959.
Currently serving as mainly a freshman dormitory, Alumni contains
four floors of dorm space which are coed by floor. There are also
lounges, Residence Life Staff Offices, pantries, a laundry room,
and storage facilities. As with every dorm on Campus, Alumni is
locked 24 hours a day for safety as each student has a key to their
own dormitory.
Anderson Hall
This dormitory is primarily a freshmen residence. It includes
lounge areas, laundry facilities, and Residence Life Staff Offices.
Anderson was named for Douglas Anderson, a prominent Elmira
industrialist and trustee, and was completed in 1960.
Columbia Hall

lounge areas, laundry facilities, and Residence Life Staff Offices.
Columbia was completed in 1965 and was rededicated in 1992 by the
Prime Minister of the Bahamas for the 500th anniversary of the
Columbus voyage.
Perry Hall
Perry Hall is named for Charles Perry, Chairman of the Board of
Trustees from 1950-1957. The building was completed in 1957 and
renovated in 1983.
Perry is primarily an upper-class dormitory, coed by floor with
double rooms and suites, Residence Life Offices, laundry facilities
and some storage areas.
Attached to Perry is Tompkins Hall, an upper-class female
dormitory.
Tompkins Hall
Tompkins Hall, named for Elmira College Trustee Sarah Wey
Tompkins, was built in 1928. This building houses upper-class
female students.
Double, single, and single adjoining rooms are available. Some
rooms boast working fireplaces and bay windows for a spectacular
view of campus.
The Terrace Level of Tompkins Hall houses the Speech and Hearing
Clinic and the Campus Security Offices.
Tompkins is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Twin Towers
The Twin Towers were opened in 1967 and 1968.
Serving as upper-class dormitories, there are 8 floors in each
tower, four suites on each floor, one common area, two doubles and
a single in each suite, two pantries, TV lounges and study
rooms.
College Cottages
The Cottages were built in 1948 to provide housing for faculty
members.
Now these four Cottages house seniors and some juniors in one and
two-bedroom, furnished apartments. Students living in Cottages have
the option of cooking for themselves. Competition for housing in
Cottages is high and is attained by applying with friends in early
spring. Housing assignments in Cottages are awarded on a point
system.
