For almost twenty-five years, SIFE has provided an organized outreach program for free enterprise education. Through their vision and mission, SIFE has integrated free enterprise education into communities around the world. By offering assistance and rewards to participating students, SIFE has secured its future presence and has paved a direct path towards meeting their objectives of free enterprise education for everyone, in every country, and every community.

Elmira College SIFE believes that the survival of the SIFE program is essential to the distribution of consistent and quality educational programs pertaining to free enterprise. By focusing on the foundation of SIFE, (the college teams,) we believe that we have assisted in securing a solid network of free enterprise integration.

We published a "SIFE Survival Guide" that discussed topics such as organization, documentation, outreach, project and team development, core values, the role of the advisory board, and preparing for competition. After distributing the guide to over 120 rookie teams in the United States, we translated our "Survival Guide" into Portuguese and sent several copies to the President and CEO of SIFE Brazil. The guide was distributed to every team in Brazil.

Results:

  • SIFE Brazil recognized our support in its first edition of "SIFE Magazine" and our guides lead to the implementation of joint projects between EC SIFE and SIFE Brazil.
  • SIFE International has requested the publishing rights to our "Survival Guide" so that it may be distributed as an official SIFE publication for all rookie SIFE teams. We were pleased when SIFE Headquarters told us this was the most complete guide they had ever seen. We are currently in the process of translating the guide into other languages including French, Spanish, Turkish, Romanian, and German so that the guide may be distributed internationally.
  • Of the 120+ Rookie SIFE teams that received our guide, 82% have participated in their first SIFE competition and several of those teams will advance to the SIFE International Exposition.
