Elmira College Theatre students Katherine Juliano ’15 and Tony Naranjo ’15 have been selected as the college’s newest nominees for the Irene Ryan Acting Scholarships awarded by the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival. Since 1972, the Irene Ryan Foundation has awarded scholarships to the outstanding student performers at regional theatre festivals. These scholarships are made possible by the generosity of the late actress Irene Ryan, best remembered for her portrayal of the lovable and feisty "Granny Clampett" in The Beverly Hillbillies. Katherine and Tony join Sarah Adriance ’16, Sarah Kaschalk ’17, Brian Nichols ’14, Samantha Jones ’15 and Craig Natoli ’16 in the college’s current production of Alfred Uhry’s The Last Night of Ballyhoo.
