The fifth installment of the Presidential Lecture Series featuring “Lifelong Learning in Your Profession” by Dr. Susanne Grennell ’70 DDS, scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 5th, has been canceled due to projected inclement weather. The event is rescheduled for Wednesday, March 26 at 6:00 p.m. at Peterson Chapel, located in Cowles Hall, and is free and open to the public.
Dr. Grennell earned her A.B. at Elmira College and was inducted into Beta Beta Beta, the collegiate biology honor society. Following her undergraduate studies at Elmira College she earned the Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Buffalo of Dental Medicine in 1975. Since 1987 she has been in private practice and served as the past president for the Academy of Operative Dentistry. She is a member in the American Dental Association, the New York State Dental Association, and the Ninth District Dental Society. In 2005 she was awarded the College’s Distinguished Achievement Award for her professional accomplishments, and was appointed to the Elmira College Board of Trustees in 2009.
The presentation of “Women and Judges: Now and Then” by keynote speaker Judge Elizabeth Garry, New York State Associate Justice of the Appellate Division, Third Division, scheduled for 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, February 5th, at Elmira College, has been canceled due to projected inclement weather. The event has been rescheduled for Thursday, February 27th at 4:00 p.m. at Peterson Chapel, located in Cowles Hall, and is free and open to the public.
Judge Garry was the second women ever to be elected to her position within the Sixth Judicial District. She attended Alfred University and Albany Law School, and has held such positions as Law Clerk to the Hon. Irad S. Ingrahm and Town Judge of New Berlin. Notable organization involvements include: Treasurer of the Association of Supreme Court Justices, Bench Book Committee, and Chair of the Continuing Legal Education Committee for the Third Department.
