Elmira College is pleased to announce that Stanley J.M. Mugeki has been appointed Director of Residence Life. Stanley attended the University of Wisconson-LaCrosse where
he received both a Bachelor’s in Public Administration and a Master’s in Professional Development. During this time, he was the President of the University of Wisconson-LaCrosse Student Government where he managed 30 people and had substantial budget responsibilities.
During his twenty-year professional and paraprofessional career, Stanley held positions such as Residence Director and Residence Life Coordinator at numerous educational institutions-North Carolina State University, Lakeland College, and Chowan University to name a few.
Stanley served as the Assistant Vice President of Student Affairs at Chowan College and even founded and owned the Talent Hills Day Care Center in Lawrence, Kansas. Most recently Stanley held the position of Director of Housing and Student Activities at North Platte Community College in North Platte, Nebraska. There, he worked to maintain an extensive program calendar of events aimed to promote safe and healthy living and learning environments.
Throughout his career, Stanley has earned many distinguishing awards and honors commemorating his exceptional work. His honors include an Outstanding Young Man of America award and the North Carolina State University Student First Award. He has also made scholarly presentations to both the American College Personnel Association and the North Carolina College Personnel Association.
