Elmira College is pleased to announce the grand opening of the Writing Center. The goal of the Writing Center is make all students more effective, more confident writers. The Writing Center is a place where any student from any academic discipline can receive assistance and advice for all writing projects and assignments.
The staff of the Writing Center can help student writers (both full-time and part-time) in a variety of ways. Whether it’s brainstorming a topic for a research paper, organizing a complex argument for a response essay, helping increase proofreading skills, reviewing the use of commas and semi-colons, pointing out appropriate citation styles and formats for specific academic disciplines, or many other writing-based skills, the staff of the Writing Center is dedicated to establishing a welcoming environment in which any and all writing issues can be addressed for the entire Elmira College community.
The Writing Center is located on the first floor of the Gannett-Tripp Library. The hours of operation for the 2013 Winter Term are Sunday through Thursday, 7:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. The Directors of the Writing Center are Professor Erin Francisco and Professor Douglas Rice.
