Elmira College is a private coeducational, liberal arts college located in the Finger Lakes region of New York State inviting applications and nominations for the position of Residence Life Coordinator.
The Residence Life Coordinator is a full-time twelve-month professional live-in administrator with the responsibility for the administration of halls ranging from 120 to 400 undergraduate students. Reporting to the Director of Residence Life, Coordinators are responsible for the programming and operations of a residence hall and will participate in a weekly on-call duty rotation. These individuals are student conduct administrators who will supervise an undergraduate staff of paraprofessionals, coordinate departmental special projects, and collaborate with Student Life staffs and other administrative and academic departments to implement comprehensive services to students.
Candidates should possess excellent interpersonal, conflict resolution, and decision-making skills, a comprehensive knowledge of residence life policies and procedures, effective written and oral communication abilities, a dedicated work ethic, positive attitude, and an open, creative, and innovative mentality.
A Master’s degree in either higher education, student services administration, or the equivalent and at least one year of residence hall supervision (or related experience) is preferred. Assertive supervision of undergraduates and a commitment to excellence is required. Compensation includes salary, furnished apartment, board plan, telephone, cable, and college benefits plan.
