Elmira College has a current opening in the Freshman Writing Program for the position of Writing Lecturer for the winter 2014 academic year. The main responsibility of the Writing Lecturer is teaching College Composition I and College Composition II, accompanied by a number of individual student tutorials. The position is full-time for five months with the option of annual renewal.
Compensation includes stipend, possible housing, board, and optional insurance benefits.
Writing Lecturers would start work in early January and work through early June.
Must have M.A., M.F.A., or Ph.D. in a field appropriate to the position.
Candidates should have an interest in and have experience teaching introductory college composition and rhetoric which seeks to improve students’ writing and thinking processes.
