Elizabeth Masterson enters her first season as Head
Women’s Soccer Coach at Elmira College.
Prior to Elmira College, Masterson served as the Assistant
Women’s Soccer Coach at Manhattanville College for the
past two seasons. This past fall, Masterson helped guide the Lady
Valiants to a 2007 ECAC Metro Tournament Championship and an
undefeated regular season conference record. While at
Manhattanville, Masterson played a major role in the recruiting
process, fundraising activities, and was responsible for the
planning and implementation of daily training sessions.
In her first season on staff with the Valiants, Masterson helped
oversee the second largest Division III turnaround in the nation,
as she helped guide Manhattanville to a college-record 14 wins and
the first ECAC Metro Tournament Championship in program history.
A 2005 graduate of St. Lawrence University, Masterson was a four
year member of the Women’s Soccer program. Throughout
her time with the Saints, Masterson garnered a variety of honors
both on and off the field. She was a four-time First Team
All-Liberty League award winner, a First Team East Regional honoree
in 2002, and a First Team NSCAA All-American selection in 2003. In
her final season with the program Masterson was named Captain by
her coaches and teammates.
In the summer of 2005, Masterson made the jump to the professional
level playing for the Massachusetts Stingers of the
Women’s Professional Soccer League. After one season
with the Stingers, she then joined the Rochester Rhinos in April of
2006 where she captained the Semi-Professional team through its
first two seasons of existence.
Coach Masterson earned a B.A. in Government at St. Lawrence
University. She later received a masters degree in
Sport Business Management from Manhattanville College.
Aileen Ascolese enters her second year as Assistant Varsity
Women’s Soccer Coach and Head Junior Varsity Coach at
Elmira College.
Ascolese, who graduated Magna Cum Laude from Rider University in
May of 2006, earned a Bachelors of Arts in Communications. As a
member of the Division I Women’s Soccer program,
Ascolese was a four year starter and one of the team’s
top midfielders having played in a total of 80 games throughout her
four seasons with the team. She currently is ranked fifth all-time
in assists at Rider and was the team captain in 2005 and was named
as the teams' Unsung Hero.
She has also been a member of various club and state teams
throughout Massachusetts. In 2003, she captained the Massachusetts
State Games of America Team, where she helped lead the team to two
gold medals in that same year. Ascolese currently holds a United
States Soccer Federation (USSF) D Coaching License, a
National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) National
Goalkeeping Diploma, a NSCAA National Diploma, and is a certified
referee and has worked a variety of soccer camps since
2004.
Coach Ascolese is pursuing a
master’s degree in Education.
