Elizabeth Masterson enters her second season as Head
Women’s Soccer Coach at Elmira College.
In her first season as Head Coach, Masterson led the Soaring
Eagles to their best finish in the program's last three
seasons. In addition, Masterson coached two Soaring
Eagles onto the Empire 8 All-Conference Team.
Prior to Elmira College, Masterson served as the Assistant
Women’s Soccer Coach at Manhattanville College for the
past two seasons. This past fall, Masterson helped guide the Lady
Valiants to a 2007 ECAC Metro Tournament Championship and an
undefeated regular season conference record. While at
Manhattanville, Masterson played a major role in the recruiting
process, fundraising activities, and was responsible for the
planning and implementation of daily training sessions.
In her first season on staff with the Valiants, Masterson helped
oversee the second largest Division III turnaround in the nation,
as she helped guide Manhattanville to a college-record 14 wins and
the first ECAC Metro Tournament Championship in program history.
A 2005 graduate of St. Lawrence University, Masterson was a four
year member of the Women’s Soccer program. Throughout
her time with the Saints, Masterson garnered a variety of honors
both on and off the field. She was a four-time First Team
All-Liberty League award winner, a First Team East Regional honoree
in 2002, and a First Team NSCAA All-American selection in 2003. In
her final season with the program Masterson was named Captain by
her coaches and teammates.
In the summer of 2005, Masterson made the jump to the professional
level playing for the Massachusetts Stingers of the
Women’s Professional Soccer League. After one season
with the Stingers, she then joined the Rochester Rhinos in April of
2006 where she captained the Semi-Professional team through its
first two seasons of existence.
Coach Masterson earned a B.A. in Government at St. Lawrence
University. She later received a masters degree in
Sport Business Management from Manhattanville College.
Krista Lee Gentile, four-year All-Patriot League selection from
Bucknell University, has been named Assistant Women’s
Soccer Coach at Elmira College.
During her four-year career at Bucknell, Gentile helped the Bison
capture a Patriot League tournament championship in 2005 and
back-to-back regular season titles in 2006 and 2007. Part of the
winningest class in Bucknell women's soccer history, Gentile led
the squad in scoring as a freshman and again as a junior despite
missing the first five games of the season due to injury. Gentile
won the Lee S. "Bud" Ranck Memorial Award, presented to senior
athletes "for outstanding spirit and contributions to the Bucknell
athletic program."
Gentile served as the Assistant Girls Soccer Coach at Saint Mary
High School during the 2008 campaign, and coached for the GOALS
Soccer Camps, SOTREX Soccer Camps and the Bucknell Bison Soccer
Camp.
“Krista brings energy and passion to our
program,” said Soaring Eagles Head Coach Liz Masterson.
“Her tremendous playing experience and habit of success
come at the ideal time for our program. Krista’s many
strengths will be utilized in the planning and implementing of
training sessions, recruiting, and the academic growth of our
student-athletes. I am thrilled to have Krista as an integral part
of the coaching staff.”
Gentile will also be pursuing a Masters Degree at Elmira College.
