Nick Carpenito joins the Elmira College coaching staff for his
first season as the Assistant Women’s Ice Hockey Coach
and Head Women’s JV Ice Hockey Coach. Carpenito, a 2011
graduate of Northeastern University, was a four-year member of the
Men’s Club Ice Hockey team.
During his time playing he also served as the Head Coach for the
Northeastern University Women’s Hockey Club. He was
responsible for the development and execution of practice plans,
instituting systems and strategies into game situations and
recruiting prospective athletes. Under Carpenito’s
tutelage the program won a wide variety of recognition including
the ACHA Division II National Championship in 2010, ACHA Division
II Third Place finish in 2009, ACHA Division I Runners Up in 2011,
2011 ECWHL Regular Season and Playoff Champions, 2010 NEWCHL
Regular Season and Playoff Champions (as well as Eight ACHA All
American Awards, 10 ACHA Academic All American Awards, and a World
University Games Participant). In addition to team awards, he was
the recipient of the 2011 ACHA Women’s Division I
National Coach of the Year Award, 2009 ACHA Women’s
Division II National Coach of the Year Award, and a 2010 ACHA
Women’s Division II National Coach of the Year Award
finalist.
In addition to coaching the Northeastern University
Women’s Club program, he also served as an intern coach
at the USA Hockey U-16 National Player Development Camp in St.
Cloud, Minnesota in 2010 and 2011 where he was responsible for
assisting head coaches with practice planning and execution, player
evaluation, and on-ice drill set up. He is also USA Hockey Coach
Education Program Level Four certified.
Carpenito brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the EC
Women’s hockey program and will look to help the
Soaring Eagles remain a perennial powerhouse in Division III
hockey.
Carpenito is pursuing a Master’s degree in General
Education at Elmira College.
