Jeremiah Kneeland ’05 enters
his fifth season as Head Men’s Soccer Coach
and Director of Community Outreach at Elmira College
. Prior to his tenure as Head Coach he served as
Assistant Varsity Soccer Coach for the Soaring Eagles.
While attending Elmira College , Kneeland was a three year starter
on the Men’s Varsity Soccer team. In 2002 he helped
lead the Purple and Gold to the Empire 8 Conference Semifinals.
Also in that season, he received Empire 8 All-Conference
recognition. In his time as a member of the program, Kneeland was
selected as the team’s Offensive Most Valuable Player
three times.
Additionally, Kneeland is a member of the United States Soccer
Federation (USSF) and holds his Advanced National Diploma from the
National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA).
He also holds NSCAA State , Regional, and National
Goalkeeping Diplomas.
Kneeland earned a S.B. in Criminal Justice and a
Master's degree in General Education.
Keith Simons joins the Elmira College coaching staff for his first
season as the Assistant Men’s Soccer Coach and the Head
JV Men’s Soccer Coach. Simons, a 2010 graduate of
Manhattanville College was a member of the men’s soccer
program as well as a captain during his senior season.
As a senior captain, Simons led Manhattanville to one of its best
seasons in school history. Under Simons’ leadership the
team set numerous school records and made a Freedom Conference
finals appearance. Simons is a role model on and off the field as
he received numerous awards in the classroom. During the 2009-10
year he was named Manhattanville Male Scholar Athlete of the Year.
In Fall 2009 Simons garnered NSCAA Men’s Scholar
Athlete All-East Region Honorable Mention, MAC Sportsmanship Team
Selection, and the Valiant Pride Award, for leadership and
dedication to the Manhattanville Men’s Soccer program.
Simons was also a two-time MAC Academic Honor Roll recipient.
Along with his playing experience, Simons brings valuable coaching
experience to the EC men’s soccer program. He served as
the Saratoga Springs Boys Varsity Assistant Coach where he helped
lead the school to its first ever Section II title. He assisted
with technical training and skills, team tactical decision making
during games, and assisted with the planning and implementation of
training sessions. Simons also served as the head coach of the boys
U-10 soccer team for First Touch Futbol Academy in Saratoga
Springs, and the club trainer for the New York Elite F.C. where he
focused on technical skills and tactical development.
Simons currently holds his NSCAA National Diploma and USSF National
“D” License.
Simons is pursuing a Master’s degree in General
Management at Elmira College.
