Every year since 1999, the cheerleaders have received a bid to
compete in the National Cheerleaders Association (NCA)
Collegiate Competition held in Daytona Beach, Florida.
In 2000, the Soaring Eagle cheerleaders won the NCA
All-Women Division II category and each year since, have placed in
the top ten. This championship is the world’s largest
collegiate cheerleading competition and attracts more than 20,000
cheerleaders, dancers, mascots and spectators.
The Soaring Eagles have competed in this national
competition 9 times before. In 1999, EC competed at the
national level for the first time, placing 7th, and in 2000, the
Soaring Eagles became the All-Women Division II National Champions.
The Purple and Gold also placed 4th in 2002, 10th in 2003, 6th in
2004, 6th in 2005, 8th in 2006. In 2007 the Soaring
Eagles brought home their second All-Women Division II National
Championship continuing their tradition of excellence.
The Purple and Gold then continued their
winning ways in 2008 finishing first at the NCA
All-Women Regional Competition in Albany, NY. At the
