Elmira College's Brandon Christo Named To PING All-American Team

Elmira N.Y. - Brandon Christo ’09 (New Liskard, ON - Temiskaming District) was named to the Division III PING All-American Third Team by the Golf Coaches Association of America on Monday.

Christo, who was also named the Empire 8 Player of the Year last month, won medalist honors in seven of the 13 events he participated in including a 13-stroke victory at the Empire 8 Championships.

A First Team All-Conference selection, Christo started the year out by winning his first three tournaments; the St. Lawrence Invitational, the Elmira College Invitational and the Nazareth & Hobart Invitational.

After a second place finish at the Oswego State Fall Invitational, Christo placed first at the fall portion of the E8 championships and the Keuka College Invitational with one more first place finish at the ECAC Championships which he won by 11 strokes.

In the spring Christo took home top honors at the Mid-Atlantic Regional Invitational by two strokes and the spring portion of the Empire 8 Championships which he won by three shots.

The Elmira College Golf team finished the season with a second place at the Empire 8 Championships.
