Soaring Eagles Claim Third at Gettysburg Invitational

GETTYSBURG, PA – Elmira College Men’s Golf finished third of 11 teams at the Gettysburg College Fall Invitational held at The Links on Tuesday. The Soaring Eagles shot a 315 to finish seven strokes behind Muhlenberg at second place. York College finished first with an impressive 303 stroke finish.

Individually, Brandon Christo ’09 (New Liskard, ONT -- Temiskaming District) led for the Purple and Gold the way after registering a 73 to finish in third place. Teammates Brendan McKee ’11 (Amsterdam, NY -- Amsterdam) and Nick Decker ’12 (Cortland, NY -- Cortland) finished strong for the Soaring Eagles shooting 86 and 78 respectively. First year golfer Howie Fleischman ’12 (Naples, NY -- Naples) registered an 82, while Kyle McInnis ’09 (Holladay, UT -- Millburn) shot an 82. 

The Elmira College men return to action October 19th when they travel to the Piney Branch Country Club for the McDaniel College Fall Invitational. The tournament is a two-day event.
