Mezei Breaks All Time Dig Record In Volleyball's Final Regular Season Home Game

Elmira, NY - Fourth year outside hitter
Jess Mezei '07 broke the Elmira College volleyball
all-time record for digs in a career tonight. The
original record was set at 2,007.
Mezei finished tonight's game against Hartwick
College with 36 digs which put her at 2,034 for her
career.
The Soaring Eagles defeated conference rival Hartwick College 3
games to 2. Scores of tonight's games were 25-30,
30-24, 30-28, 21-30, and 15-5. Tonight's game marked
the final regular season home game for
co-captains
Mezei and
Jackie Clark '07. Besides recording 36
digs
Mezei also scored 28 kills for the Purple and
Gold.
Clark scored 18 kills and earned 2 solo blocks and
2 block assists.
Susan Clark '09 scored 12 kills and was second on
the team with 31 digs.
Amanda Weaver '10 put up a season high 51 assists
and tallied 18 digs. First year libero
Jen Jenkins '09 recorded 29 digs.
Katie Schildwaster '08 tied
Mezei for total digs in tonight's game with
36.
EC volleyball does not compete again until Saturday, October
21st, when Elmira College plays host to the Empire 8 Volleyball
Crossover Tournament. EC's first match of the
tournament is scheduled to begin at 2:15 p.m. when they take on
Alfred University.
