Union's Two Second Half Goals Sink Men's Soccer

Schenectady, NY - Elmira College men's soccer was defeated today by Union College 0-2.  The Soaring Eagles allowed two goals in the first six minutes of the second half. 

Recording the only shot on goal for the Purple and Gold was second year forward Alex Mincolla '09Brian Haschke '10 tallied two shots and Dane Bertha '09 had the only other shot for EC.  Second year goalkeeper Jon DePrimo '09 came up with four saves, while Pat Nugent '09 earned one save. 

Scoring the first goal for Union College in the 4th minute of the second half was Hugo Fernandez-Davila '07.  He was assisted by Ryan Banagan '10.  Union's second goal came only 2 minutes later when Tripp Pietrak '08 scored on a pass from John Mara '10Pietrak recorded six of Union's 19 shots on EC.  Goalkeeper Rob Kramer '09 tallied one save in the match.

EC will look to bounce back from this loss this Saturday when they face conference rival RIT in an Empire 8 conference match.  Game time is scheduled for noon at Rochester Institute of Technology.
