Rock Earn's Only Victory For Women's Tennis

Elmira, NY - The women's tennis team faced Nazareth College in Empire 8 conference play yesterday.  EC was defeated by the Golden Flyers by the score of 8-1. 

Jen Rock '07 earned the only victory for the Purple and Gold yesterday in her singles match.  She defeated Nazareth's Janelle Remington '10 2 matches to 1.  The scores of the matches were 7-5, 3-6, and 10-7.  Daniella Oaxaca '09 who has won her past two singles matches was defeated by Nazareth's Jackeline Martinez '10 in two straight matches.  Scores from their match were 6-1 and 6-0.

In doubles action Oaxaca and Torrie Robinson-Neff '09 were defeated by Ellen Austin '08 and Kathryn Cross '07 by the score of 8-5.

The EC women's tennis team will return to action this Sunday, October 1st when they head Rochester, NY to face conference rival RIT.  The match is scheduled to being at 1 p.m.
