Field Hockey Wins First Conference Match Of The Season

Elmira, NY - In their first Empire 8 conference match of the 2006 season the Soaring Eagles defeated Steven's Tech. 4-2.

Scoring her second hat trick of the 2006 season was second year forward Kayla Blank '09.  Blank tallied a total of 7 shots in today's match.  Also scoring for the Purple and Gold was fourth year defender Jess Zegarelli '07.  Fourth year goalkeeper Ann Phillips '07 came up with a total of 7 saves in the entire match.  Chelsea Jipner '10 had a total of 4 shots today.

Scoring for Stevens Tech. was second year midfielder Hillary Paul '09 and first year midfielder Kara Borzillo '10.  Goalkeeper Stephanie Smith '09 had a total of 9 saves in today's match.

The Soaring Eagles return to the Murray Athletic Center this Tuesday September 26th when they face Hartwick College.  Game time is scheduled for 4 p.m.
