Elmira, NY - The men's soccer team lost their second Empire 8
match of the season today to Nazareth College 2-0.
Tim Certosimo '10 was held to only two shots in
today's game, one of which were on goal. For the first
time this season first year forward
Brian Haschke '10 did not tally a
single offensive stat for the Soaring Eagles. Second
year goalkeeper
Jon DePrimo '09 came up with a total of 11 saves
in today's match and faced a total of 28 shots from Nazareth's
offense.
Scoring first for Nazareth was second year forward
Justino Flores '09.
Flores scored off of a cross from teammate
Troy Gotham '09 in the 38th minute of the 1st
half. On the day
Flores tallied a total of three shots, two of
which were on goal. Nazareth's second goal was scored a
minute and forty-seconds into the second half on a penalty
kick.
Certosimo was called for an hand ball inside
Elmira's goalbox and Nazareth was awarded the penalty
kick. Scoring on the penalty kick was fouth year
defender
Ed Babcock '07 who placed the ball lower left
corner, to give Nazareth the 2-0 lead and eventually the
win. Fourth year goalkeeper
Alex Kilroy '07 only had to come up
with one save the entire match.
The Soaring Eagles record now moves to 4-3 overall and 0-2 in
the Empire 8 conference. The team will head to Skidmore
College this Tuesday, September 26th. Game time is
scheduled for 4 p.m.
