Men's Soccer Shut Out By St. John Fisher 5-0

Rochester, NY - In their first conference match of the 2006 season the Men's Soccer team was defeated by St. John Fisher by the score of 5-0.

The Soaring Eagles were held to only 5 shots for the entire match.  Three of which were on goal.  First year forward Brian Haschke '10 recorded two of the three shots on goal, while Evan Sweeney '07 tallied the only other shot on goal for the Purple and Gold.  This is only the second game where Haschke has been held scoreless.  Second year goalkeepers Jon DePrimo '09 and Pat Nugent '09 faced a total of 24 shots from Fisher.  DePrimo came up with 12 saves and was scored on four times.  Nugent did not record a save in the game and was scored on once. 

Five different players for Fisher recorded a goal against EC.  Scoring first for the Cardinals was first year forward Jason Tartick '10 in the 15th minute of the first half.  Brian Bartosik '08 scored in the 29th minute and Anthony D'Angelo '07 recorded his goal only a minute later.  Robert Wick '09 and Rick Kharas '10 each recorded their first goals of the season for Fisher in the second half.  Second year goal keeper Scott Williams '09 came up with 3 saves in the first half. 

The Soaring Eagles will look to bounce back from this lost on Wednesday, September 20th when they face Marywood University at 3 p.m. on Elmira College's Campus Field.
