Blank's Hat Trick Not Enough To Beat Rochester

Rochester, NY - Kayla Blank '09 earned her first hat trick of the 2006 season yesterday against the University of Rochester, unfortunately the second year players three goals were not enough to beat Rochester. 

Blank recorded a total of four shots on goal 3 of which she scored.   Blank's first two gaosl came in the first half.   Blank's third goal happened to be the last goal of the match which came in the 64th minute.  Jackie Thomas '07 and Chelse Jipner '10 each recorded two shots in the game as well.  Jipner assisted Blank on 2 of her 3 goals.  Fourth year goalkeeper Ann Phillips '07 came up with 18 saves and had to face 42 shots from Rochester.  The Soaring Eagles were only able to get two penalty corners in the entire match.   

Mary DiMatteo '07 had 10 shots for Rochester and recorded one of the six goals scored, and tallied two assists in the game as well.  Amanda Case '10, Revay Wilson '07, and Krista Butler '07 each had a goal a piece.  Third year player Kari Plewniak '08 recorded two goals in the game.  Butler assisted Plewniak's second goal of the game.  Rachel Cahan '08 was charged with Blank's hat trick, and only had to come up with 4 saves the entire match. 

The Soaring Eagles will face SUNY Geneseo on Wednesday September 13th at the Murray Athletic Center.  Game time is scheduled for 4 p.m.
