Hobart's Offense To Much For Men's Soccer

Geneva, NY - In their third match of the season the Men's Soccer was defeated by Hobart College by the score of 3-0.  Hobart entered today's game with a record of 3-0, while Elmira College entered play with an overall record of 2-0. 

First year forward Brian Haschke '10 who has scored one goal in each of the two games this season was held to only 3 shots, two of which were shots on goal.  Alex Mincolla '09 and Tim Certosimo '10 each had one shot a piece in the game.  Second year goalkeeper Jon DePrimo '09 was forced to come up with 7 saves on the day and faced a total of 24 shots from Hobart's offense. 

Hobart's first goal came in the 13th minute of play when fourth year player Tucker Crockett '07 scored off of a pass from Dan Riso '09.  The second goal of the game was also scored in the first half at the 21st minute.  Matt Schwartz '09 scored on a header from a corner kick from midfielder Tyler Webster '08.  The third and final goal of the match came in the the 1st minute of the second half on an own goal decision.  Goalie Pete Van Dellon '09 only had to come up with 2 saves in the game. 

The Soaring Eagles drops to 2-1 overall and will face Cazenovia next Tuesday, September 12th.  Game time is scheduled for 4 p.m. at Campus Field in Elmira, NY.
