SUNY Cortland Shuts Out Women's Soccer 3-0

Cortland, NY - In their first game of the 2006 season, the Soaring Eagles were defeated by SUNY Cortland by the score of 3-0. 

Elmira College was only able to get three shots off the entire game.  Two of the three shots came from Bridget Catanese '08.  First year player Katie Roman '10 had the third and final shot.  Third year keeper Meaghan Doherty '08 came up with four saves and faced a total of twenty-four shots from Cortland's offense.  

Cortland scored all three of it's goals in the second half.  Katie Trivisonno '08 and Anna Whitmore '10 each had a goal and an assist in the game.  Mandy Womelsdorf '08 scored the second goal for Cortland in the 58th minute.  Goalkeeper Megan Thayer '08 only had to come up with one save the entire match. 

Elmira College's next match will be this Sunday, September 10th at William Smith College.  Game time is scheduled for 2 p.m.
