Elmira College Men's Soccer Opens Up Season With 2-0 Win Over Morrisville

Elmira, NY - The 2006 Elmira College Men's Soccer team opened up
their regular season today with a 2-0 victory over SUNY
Morrisville.
First year players
Brian Haschke '10 and
Tim Certosimo '10 each scored a goal a
piece.
Certosimo's unassisted goal came in the 22nd
minute of the first half, when he took advantage of a loose ball in
Morrisville's defensive end.
Certosimo recorded three shots on goal and was
constantly pressuring Morrisville's defense.
Haschke's unassisted goal was
scored with in the first 17 seconds of the second
half. Haschke stole the ball at midfield and
dribbled it up the right side, he then cut the ball to middle
and blasted it by SUNY
Morrisville's keeper Bradley Reed '10 giving the Soaring
Eagles a 2-0 lead.
Jon DePrimo '09 earned his first shut out of the
2006 season.
DePrimo had a total of 3 saves on the day and was
consistently pressured by SUNY Morrisville's offense.
This game marked
DePrimo's second career shut out in the two years
he has played for Elmira College.
Reed recorded 3 in his first collegiate game. Suny
Morrisville's offense tallied a total of 5 shots on the
day. Three of those fives shots were on
goal.
The Soaring Eagles head to Hilbert College on Tuesday,
September 5th. Game time is scheduled for 4
p.m.
