Adeline “Addie” Miletti Cusimano ’61

Education
And Elmira College Master’s Program for Education

Addie is a Director, Diagnostician, and Clinician at The Achievement Center, where she developed techniques that achieved results and designed materials to help teach learning skills. “Watching children struggling with reading has driven me to find the answers to solving their learning problems,” she explains. Addie credits her success in this area to classes she took at Elmira College, especially her classes in anthropology, philosophy, history of art, and in particular, the development of learning skills. “My courses taught me how to analyze, evaluate and follow through in my quest to finding answers. As a result, I was not hesitant to conduct research to find the key to saving children from a life of learning difficulties.”
“If I were to choose a career from all of the thousands of careers open to women today,” Addie says, “I would still choose teaching.” Addie is the author of Learning Disabilities: There is a cure among others. She has also been named to Marquis’s Who’s Who in American Education and Who’s Who in America.
