EC Alumna Named Daily Star Coach of the Year
January 15th, 2007
Jennifer Pindar '96 was named the Oneonta Daily Star Coach of the Year.
Pindar has had a very successful five-year career as a coach of
the Cooperstown women's soccer team. She recently led the Redskins
to their second straight Section Three championship
despite graduating four key starters from 2005 team that reached
Class C state semifinals. This is a story book ending
to a season where the team started out 1-2, and
ultimately finishing with 14 wins, 5 losses
and 4 ties. Her unbeaten streak of seven games ended with a 3-0
loss to Candor in state quarterfinal. That streak
included back-to-back penalty-kick shootout wins in sectional
semifinal and final. Helping Stamford win first Section
Four championship as a senior in 1991, she becomes the
first Cooperstown coach to receive Daily Star honors
since Lisa Ann Cherubin in 1999, when Redskins shared Class C state
championship with Cold Spring Harbor.
Jenn played Varsity Soccer for the Elmira College Soaring
Eagles.
