Average class sizes at EC are 16 students. You will not just be an anonymous face in a lecture hall. All professors even provide their home phone numbers to students without exeception.

Internships provide experiential learning. Spring Term classes offer travel abroad experiences and engaging on-campus activities. Community service prepares you to be a leader in the community. Encore will increase your cultural literacy through the performing arts.

97 percent of our students have jobs by Labor Day following Commencement and attend some of the finest graduate schools in the country.

With more than 100 clubs and organizations, a competitive, participatory Division III athletics program, dynamic residence life, leadership opportunities, and exceptional peer students, you make friends that last a lifetime. Ten percent of the EC student population are international students residing from 31 different countries.

Our nationally-recognized first-year experience launches you into life at EC. One-on-one instruction in the Freshman Writing Program, Encore, and community service will help you transition to college life. Your professors and administrators will provide personal help and guidance along the way.

Founded in 1855 and coeducational since 1969, EC was the first women's college to offer degree requirements equal to those of men's colleges. Our academic innovation and long-lived traditions rank EC as one of the top private colleges in the nation. Our traditions link current students with  generations of alumni, and make Elmira College distinctive.

We offer a range of financial aid opportunities and on-campus jobs to help make college extremely affordable. Eighty-five percent of our students receive student aid. For honor students, we offer generous honor scholarships based on academic credentials.
