Program
A Multi-Level, 2 ½- week Intensive English Language and Cultural Experience for International High School Students and Local Community Members
2 ½-Week ESL Program
July 25 th to August 12 th, 2010
The High School Summer English as a Second Language Program is designed for non-native English-speakers who attend high school and wish to improve their English skills and experience American culture while living on a traditional college campus in the United States. It is a full-time residential program that includes English language classes, conversation partners and groups, various forms of media labs (ex: iPod and movies) and cultural events. In the past years, we have gone on weekend trips to Niagara Falls and New York City. In addition, this program includes a weekend homestay with an American family. This program is open to anyone in grades 10-12 with intermediate to advanced skills in English.
These programs are also available to full-time commuter students and part-time Continuing Education students. In addition, non-native English speakers who are residents of the Twin Tiers of New York State and Pennsylvania may qualify for a special tuition rate if they meet the requirements of the programs for which they are applying.
For more information regarding applying and tuition costs, please contact the Director of the English as a Second Language program at Elmira College at esl@elmira.edu or (607) 735-1928.
