Get Adjusted to the Elmira College Lifestyle
2012 Fall Orientation will be August 30th through September 2nd
The Freshman Orientation program is designed to give our new students a personal welcome and introduction to EC.
Students from the incoming freshman class will arrive on Campus four days early. You will receive your beanie and meet Elmira's president,
Dr. Thomas Meier, at our impressive entrance ceremony.
Our 200 student Orientation Leaders will help you move into your dorm and get acquainted to the EC lifestyle.
You will attend the annual barbecue at Dr. Meier's home, participate versus other dorms in the Floor Olympics, and grapple with your Orientation Leaders in the traditional tug of war; win, and you can tuck your beanie away until graduation.
The highlight of Freshman Orientation occurs Saturday night during the
Candlelight Ceremony around "The Puddle." All freshmen may then remove their beanies and are welcomed as official members of our community.
Following Freshman Orientation, you will know the people on your floor, have made new friends, and discovered the benefits of living in a community where people look out for one another and work toward common goals.
