Your New Home

Freshman year at Elmira College is an important time to grow and
learn more about yourself and your class. First-year students live
together to allow the members of the newest class at Elmira College
to develop unity and continuity from Freshman Orientation through
Commencement four years later.
Our Residence Life staff receives special training to support
students making the transition from secondary school to
college.
You will have choices about where you would like to live. We try
to place you in your first-choice building as a first year student,
though it is not always possible. Our first year students are
generally placed in
Alumni,
Anderson
or
Columbia
Halls. Alumni and Anderson are co-ed buildings, while Columbia
offers all female housing. It has proven to be a supportive
environment for our first year students to live together, while
they are adjusting to college life and going through many of the
same struggles and triumphs.
Room selection will be done when you arrive for Summer
Registration.
