English Literature Curriculum
People who can communicate ideas easily and
effectively will always be the mainstay of our society. The use of
words and mastery of language are fundamental to the study of
English. Coursework focuses on authors, genres, and literary
periods in both English and American literature.
English literature majors often go on to careers
in teaching, writing, law or business, but the analytical and
communication skills acquired in their study are of use in almost
any profession or activity.
In addition to the required number of credits needed to
complete the major, all students must also fulfill the
general degree
requirements in order to graduate.
