Yes. Every year there are some students that fail to attend their required eight events or do not write the required paper, resulting in an F for Encore. Even though Encore is only worth .25 credits, an F for Encore can affect your overall GPA. Students have been prevented from participating on sports teams and in other campus activities because an F for Encore has caused their grades to fall below minimum GPA requirements. Remember, Encore is a graduation requirement. In the past students have also been prevented from graduating because they have not completed their Encore requirements.
