Encore Credit Requirements
Receiving Credit for Attending Performances
Rules To Follow To Receive Encore Credit
Scan in and out of all performances. If your card
does not work, contact Ms. Misha Neil right away! Non-Encore
students should not scan in.
Do not remove the name portion of your ticket
stub. If there is a problem with the scanners, your ticket
stub is used to determine your attendance.
Do not use a ticket that belongs to someone else.
If your friend cannot attend a show, bring the ticket in 30 minutes
prior to the show, and have the name on the ticket changed to your
own.
You must
bring your Elmira College ID to gain entrance to
all performances. Our student workers will not input your
information, or allow you to do it. No ID...No show, and No credit
for coming to the show.
Talking or text messaging on cell phones is
forbidden, as it is at any performance venue.
If your cell phone is on, you will be asked to leave and you will
not receive credit.
Sit in the seat for which you were given a ticket.
We do not have open seating at the Gibson Theatre. Encore students
are not the only audience members at the performances. If you are
in a seat that belongs to someone else, you will be asked to
move.
Arrive 15 minutes prior to the scheduled start of the
performance. If you arrive late, you WILL NOT
be allowed to enter.
Hold your
applause! If a piece contains multiple movements,
wait until each movement is completed and the
entire piece is finished before applauding.
Do not talk during performances.
Do not leave the performance, except for an
emergency, in the middle of a piece. Wait until the end of the
piece to leave your seat. At the end of the performance
wait until all performers have completely left the stage
before exiting.
Food and beverages are not allowed in the
theatre.
Do not rest your knees above the top or drape your legs over the
seat in front of you.
Show respect to your fellow students, faculty, patrons and
performers. Remember it is not easy to get up in front of a group
of people to perform!
