The Encore Program

The Encore program is our innovative
performing arts requirement gives credit to students for attending
performances in theatre, dance and music during Term I and Term II
of the freshmen and sophomore years. Encore provides an opportunity
for students to broaden their experiences and deepen their
knowledge of the performing arts through attending and learning
from high quality performers.
Encore Mission Statement
Our primary goal is to create conditions increasing the
likelihood that appreciation of the performing arts in general, and
of classical music in particular, will widen and deepen during the
first two years at Elmira College. This goal is achieved in part by
increasing the number and variety of performing arts events (in
music, dance and theatre) which students experience.

Exposure to music, dance and theatre provides the opportunity to
