Renaissonics, Renaissance Ensemble

Described by the Early Music Review as “a brilliant ensemble,” Renaissonics play as musicians of the era played - vigorously and improvisationally.  Their stylish performances allow audiences to experience the elegance and excitement of Renaissance music as it was intended to be heard. A unique blend of members; all perform as internationally recognized soloists, dance musicians, and improvisers. Acknowledged as a leading ensemble of Renaissance Chamber Music, Dance Music, and Improvisation, they have appeared at the Festival Cenomanies in Le Mans, France; Musique en Catalogne Romaine, Perpignan, France; and may be heard on Ken Burn’s PBS Documentary The West. Other appearances include the Cambridge Society for Early Music’s International Candlelight Concerts, Boston’s First Night Celebration, and featured as an ensemble for the Christmas Revels where they performed for more than 15,000. Notable collaborations have included Hollywood star Michael York, renowned jazz drummer Bob Moses, Bolivian Music Ensemble Sumaj Chasquis, and Latin Music stars Sol Y Canto. In addition to producing a local Concert Series and a Renaissance Social Dance Series, they serve as the resident ensemble of the Killington Vermont Shakespeare Festival.
