Corianobone, Classical French Horn, Trombone, and Piano
This evening’s concert mark’s the first formal performance of Corianobone Trio. The performers include Mark Kellogg, trombone; Alexander Shuhan, horn; and Joseph Werner, piano. Kellogg enjoys the dual appointment of Associate Professor of Trombone, Euphonium, and Chamber Music at the Eastman School of Music and Principal Trombone of the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra. He has performed as soloist with the U.S. Army Chamber Orchestra, the Hartford Symphony, and the Eastman Wind Ensemble at Kodak Hall, Carnegie Hall, and in Japan. A founding member of the chamber ensemble Rhythm & Brass, he has appeared at numerous low brass symposia around the U.S. and Japan. In 2006, Kellogg initiated the annual Eastman Summer Trombone Institute. Shuhan, Associate Professor of Horn at Ithaca College, joined the faculty in 1998 and serves as the Principal Horn of the Cayuga Chamber Orchestra and the Fort Smith Symphony Orchestra. He performs frequently with the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra and has played with the Syracuse Symphony Orchestra, and the Skaneateles Chamber Music Festival. Werner, also a founding member of Rhythm & Brass, serves as Principal Pianist and Manager for the RPO. He is also Co-Artistic Director of Chamber Music Rochester. He has toured with Kellogg, as an Artistic Ambassador for the U.S. Information Agency and is Co-Chair of the Hochstein Piano Department, where he won the first Faculty Service Award. In 2007, he was awarded the Mu Phi Epsilon’s Musician of the Year.
