In Darwin’s Footsteps: Evolutionary Theory in the Galapagos
This course is an in-depth exploration of Darwin’s evolutionary theory through classroom instruction and by visiting the Galapagos Islands where Darwin’s seminal work was inspired. Animal behavior in an evolutionary context will be the primary focus, with field observations of the unique and amazing fauna of the islands the highlight. The ecology, botany, geology and culture of Ecuador and the Galapagos in particular will also be studied. Evaluation will include exams, research projects and reports, and a detailed field journal of observations and research data.
